Wow! I can’t believe I have already been home for almost 3 whole months now!!! So crazy… and a lot has happened! Lemme fill y’all in!
After 9 months of being a part of World Race Gap Year, the time had come, and our race was coming to a close. With that, Gap D landed in Miami, FL on June 1st. All the emotions hit, some of us said our final goodbyes, and the rest of us headed over to Angelina’s apartment! Angelina’s family was so kind to welcome Gap D into their home and host a dinner for the squad! We had a great time meeting her family and hanging out as a squad altogether one last time.
For the next couple days, my team stayed with Angelina’s family, spending time with one another, processing being back in the states, grieving our race, and also preparing our hearts before going home.
On June 3rd, I packed up my bags and headed back to the airport. A few hours later, I landed in Houston, TX and reunited with my little sister, Georgia, and my sweet Memaw and Papa!!! And holy moly… I cried so hard! I was so happy to see my family again for the FIRST time in literally 5 months. We spent time at the house, I saw more of my family, and it was just such a blessing being able to be alongside them again.
After a few days of staying at my grandparents, Georgia and I drove home to Inez, TX, where I was OFFICIALLY back home. All the cows, many hugs, and even more tears! Wow, still praising God for all the precious moments and that I was able to live with my family again.
Over the course of the summer, I worked at VISD with my stepdad Johnny! Love this man! We rode to and from work together, I was a part of their paint crew (love these guys), and I learned so many cool things! The Lord just answered SO many prayers about having a job while being home and also moved in incredible ways in my workplace. Also, while being home, I was blessed to be able to meet up with my sweet friends again, my Riverside Church family, and just spend a lot of quality time with the people I love so dearly!!!

Yes!!! So, a lot has happened over this summer, it’s been super exciting, and new chapters are beginning! As of right now, I am living in Gainesville, GA and am apart of another program with Adventures in Missions called Center of Global Action (CGA). This is a discipleship school AIM offers to alumni racers and it will end in December. While in CGA, I will also be attending online Bible College called, Destiny Leadership Institute (DLI) and working in my free time! While doing all these things, I would LOVE to start sending out monthly newsletters, to keep all of you updated on life! Thank you all so much for your love and support!
